Pryzm’s landlord has submitted a planning application to establish if new uses would be allowed at another unit in the building.
The Laser Planet site, next to the night club, falls under the wide-ranging use-class 'E' and a plan submitted on Thursday (July 13) looks to confirm this and establish if all other uses under that class would also be allowed without constituting “development”.
According to the proposal the applicant, Watford Parade (Gibraltar) Limited, “is seeking maximum flexibility for the unit to meet changing demands”.
- Bridge 'at the end of its usable life' set for £1 million replacement
- Cars swerve 'dangerous' mound of food waste in Watford road
- Courts involved as Altham Way traveller camp flouts notice
This does not mean the venue will close, all it would mean is that if the landlord did want to change it to another class 'E' use it wouldn’t need new planning permission.
Anything from shops, cafes, restaurants, banks, estate agents, gyms, indoor sports facilities, offices, some light industry, doctors’ offices, or nurseries would fall under use class E.
A similar application was approved for the former atria John Lewis unit in January before it was announced that Dunelm would be moving in, in May.
