A mound of food waste appeared in the middle of a road in Watford, forcing cars to swerve into traffic.
Wiggenhall Road residents noticed the "dangerous" mound at around 12.15pm, although police were already at the scene.
One resident, who did not see it get dumped, said: “Traffic was either ploughing through it, spreading it up the road, or swerving into the opposite carriageway and oncoming traffic to avoid it."

They explained that while there were no close calls, “obviously it was dangerous”.
“Not only the slippery surface but the fact drivers had to force their way into the opposite carriageway and rely on oncoming traffic to stop,” they added.
Herts Police do not appear to have been called to the scene and the officers may have just been passing by.
The police car left at around 12.20pm, before Herts Highways workers arrived to clear it at around 1pm.
The council has been contacted for more information, updates to follow.
Update: The waste has now been cleared.
