A gang climbed aboard a lorry in Watford before stealing £17,000 worth of goods.
It was being driving along St Albans Road when another vehicle pulled in front and brought it to a stop at around 8.25am on Thursday, June 29.
Herts Police said people then exited the vehicle and entered the rear of the truck before making off with the items.
The stolen goods were supermarket stock for Sainsbury's, a police spokesperson confirmed, after the force issued an appeal for information today (July 14).
