An unauthorised traveller camp couldn’t be removed due to a “clerical error”.
After reports of a traveller camp being set up in Altham Way car park, South Oxhey, landowner Three Rivers District Council tasked an agency with serving a notice requiring them to vacate.
The Watford Observer understands the group had been given until yesterday evening to leave, but the notice hadn’t been filled in properly and couldn’t be enforced.

A spokesperson for the council said: “Owing to a clerical error involving an external agency tasked with serving the notice that required the site to be vacated yesterday (July 12), a new notice was served this morning with a new deadline of 7:30pm today.
“Council officers continue to closely monitor the situation.”
Herts Police became aware of the set-up near Oxhey Jets Football Club on Friday (July 7).
“Officers from the Oxhey Safer Neighbourhood Team are continuing to monitor the situation while liaising with the landowner, Three Rivers District Council,” the force said earlier this week.
