An ex-councillor has been granted a Freedom of the Parish Award in recognition of over two decades of service.
Pam King, who served residents for Watford Rural Parish Council, was given the local authority's highest possible honour last week.
She said: "I feel so honoured to receive the Freedom of the Parish award from Watford Rural Parish Council.
"It has been my privilege to serve South Oxhey and the neighbouring wards as a councillor and as chairperson for the past 26 years."
She is the first person in the council to have received the award, after stepping down from politics at the last election.
Joan King, chair of Watford Rural Parish Council, said: "She got very emotional when she was handed the award, it was well deserved and Pam worked so hard for everyone in the parish."

- Five Watford town centre businesses on the market right now
Despite stepping down, she still works hard in the community, including volunteering to run the Pensioners' Lunch Club and the Community Fun Days.
