Police are “monitoring” an unauthorised encampment that appeared in a car park.
After reports of a traveller camp being set up in Altham Way, South Oxhey, Three Rivers District Council and local police have remained tight-lipped but confirmed they are aware of the situation.
Herts Police became aware of the set-up near Oxhey Jets Football Club on Friday (July 7).

“Officers from the Oxhey Safer Neighbourhood Team are continuing to monitor the situation while liaising with the landowner, Three Rivers District Council,” the force added.
The council did not go into detail on exactly what it was doing but did confirm it is aware of the situation “and is dealing with it”.
It is understood that papers were set to be served yesterday, and the travellers are expected to move out of the area tomorrow (July 12).
In 2016, travellers set up in the former Little Furze School site in South Oxhey and in 2019 a group encamped in Prestwick Road.
