A £2.5 million mansion with seven bedrooms could be demolished and replaced with eight flats.
Wildacre, situated in an “unusually large” 0.76-acre plot in The Woods, between Northwood and South Oxhey, would be replaced with a “traditional” Arts and Crafts-style building, divided into eight two-bedroom flats, if Three Rivers District Council approves a new proposal.
There would be three ground floor flats, three more on the first floor, and two on the roof level with two underground parking spaces each as well as two guest parking spots.
- Plan to demolish £785,000 home and build four three-bedroom houses
- 'Popular' convenience store sold to local operator
- Watford's new burger bar officially opens
All the spaces would have electric car charging points. The shared garden would be 1,604 square metres, excluding the private patio areas, around the size of six tennis courts.
A listing for the existing property, before it was sold, describes it as having “the potential for further development”.
The property was sold in August 2022, with the guide price given as £2,500,000. The plan offers examples of comparable flats to those proposed, which have been sold for up to £1,550,000 for a single Northwood flat.
