Doubts are growing over the future of Boots stores in Watford after the chain announced hundreds will close over the next year.
Although remaining tight-lipped on specific stores, the retailer has said it plans to “consolidate a number of stores in close proximity to each other”.
There are three branches in Watford: Waterfield Retail Park, atria Watford, and St Albans Road.

The stores in atria and St Albans Road both have pharmacies.
Boots yesteerday (June 27) confirmed it will close 300 stores over the next 12 months, taking its total to 1,900 across the UK.
The closures are part of a transformation plan that include “uplifting existing stores”, it said.
As of May 31, Boots stores footfall increase 6.9 per cent (based on transaction data) compared to the national average of 2.8 per cent.
It added that it has had a retail sales growth of 13.4 per cent for three months ending on May 31.
