A school has submitted plans for a new two-storey teaching block that could seat 256 students.
Watford Grammar School for Girls, in Ladys Close, is hoping to get the go-ahead from Watford Borough Council to add the new building to its site.
The block, proposed this week, would be made up of four classrooms on the bottom floor and four on the top, as well as a staffroom, 115 metres to the west of the main building.

A statement submitted alongside the plan said: “The addition of the new facility to the estate will allow Watford Grammar School for Girls to continue successful education delivery within high quality teaching and learning environments.”
According to the plan, the building would replace the existing English block, allowing the existing facility to be re-purposed for dedicated SEND provision.
Four potential sites for the building were considered before the area facing onto Wiggenhall Road was chosen due to being empty, its accessibility from the main school, and allowing separate construction access.
