A “usually quiet” road was left looking “like a war zone” after a suspect fled the scene of a crash, theft and assault.
Herts Police were called about a crash in Chalfont Road, Maple Cross, at around 1.10pm yesterday (June 22).
Three people in a van had apparently been driving towards the road before crashing into parked vehicles and a concrete wall.

Two of the people in the van were then assaulted, although no injuries were sustained.
A Sainsbury’s bag, which the force said reportedly contained a wallet, money, and “other items”, was then taken before the suspect made off towards Denham Way.
The force asked anyone with information to call 101 quoting crime reference 41/50131/23.
Alan Clark, who lives in the road, said the aftermath “looked like a war zone” and claimed the assault may have involved a spray being used.
He added that a “major” police presence had been called out to the road, along with the fire service.
The road was cordoned off while investigations were carried out and the wreckage was removed.
