Two men have been charged and remanded into custody after a burglary in Rickmansworth.
Officers raced to The Clump on June 20 after a member of the public reported two men acting suspiciously.
Herts Police said in a social media post: "Both the Intervention and Safer Neighbourhood Teams attended, acting swiftly to detain two men and recover suspected stolen jewellery nearby.
"A local PCSO was assaulted during the arrest but required no further treatment."
Johnny Doherty, 23, of Tramway Avenue in Edmonton, has been charged with burglary dwelling with intent to steal, common assault of an emergency worker, assault by beating of an emergency worker, and escape from lawful custody.
Patrick Hanrahan, 20, of no fixed address, has been charged with burglary dwelling with intent to steal, and common assault of an emergency worker.

The force said they will be making personal contact with the member of the public who reported the burglary to thank them for calling when something felt wrong.
“It shows that often that gut feeling is worth listening to," they added.
“Thanks to their phone call we were able to attend immediately, make arrests and recover jewellery which is no doubt of huge sentimental value to the victim.”
