Two towns near Watford have been revealed as among the 50 most desirable places to live in England.
The list includes Chorleywood and Rickmansworth, but Watford didn’t make the cut.
In new research commissioned by The Telegraph, towns were ranked using several key factors including state of health, cost of homes, the jobs people living there have, and the qualifications they hold.

Estate agents Savills were tasked with putting together the list, using data from the most recent census.
Other towns in Hertfordshire, or otherwise near Watford, that made the cut are Harpenden, Amersham, Gerrards Cross, Berkhamsted, St Albans, and Hitchin.
According to Rightmove properties in Rickmansworth had an overall average price of £788,509 over the last year.
Over the same period the average price in Chorleywood was £915,136 while Watford buyers faced a relatively modest £532,276 average price tag in comparison.
Watford placed third among the UK’s 100 largest urban areas on the 2023 UK Vitality Index released in March.
