Emergency repair works have closed Watford High Street — with buses unable to serve town centre stops.
Thames Water shut the town centre road this morning, from around 9.30am, to carry out “emergency” repairs to its infrastructure in the town.
Intalink confirmed buses will not be serving the High Street or Market Street bus stops, and asked passengers to board at Beechen Grove or Exchange Road.

The public transport company said the road was “currently closed until 12.00pm” at 9.33am, but the emergency works permit allows Thames Water to keep the road shut until midnight. Thames Water has been contacted for an expected reopening time and more information.
The footway has not been closed.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire County Council said: “Thames Water are carrying out some emergency repair works on High Street, Watford, this morning, which is why the road is closed.”
According to Passenger Transport, the following buses will have their route impacted by the closure: 9, 306, 319, 346, 346A, 352, 385, 385A, 398, 508, 602, 635, R2, W1, and W20.
Update: The road has now reopened
