Plans to build a motorway service station along the M25 have been submitted.

The Three Rivers District Council received a proposal for the build to be placed between junctions 16 and 17 on June 7.

It is a neighbouring authority consultation because the initial plan was submitted to Buckinghamshire Council in May 2022.

Developers want to include a facility building and petrol station on the land that will only be accessed via the M25.

Planning documents have said electric vehicle charging points, a service yard, parking facilities, vehicle circulation, landscaping and amenity spaces will also be included.

Previous plans for a similar development submitted in 2021 to the west of the M25 at Warren Farm were rejected after the scheme had drawn more then 1,600 objections from the public.

The new plans would place the facilities to the east of the motorway near Chalfont St Peter in Buckinghamshire.

Developers have said the motorway is needed because government policy aims to give drivers an opportunity to stop every 28 miles, which is approximately every 30 minutes.

Currently the network exceeds that with more then 40 miles.
