A man has been charged with several crimes after an alleged robbery in McDonald’s involving a knife threat.
The suspect reportedly entered the Watford High Street restaurant on Sunday evening (May 21), went behind the counter and stole £40 worth of food.
When a staff member confronted him, he claimed that he had a knife, though no weapons were seen, Herts Police said.

The man left McDonald's and was said to be approaching members of the public in the street and behaving aggressively towards them.
Officers arrested a man in High Street in connection with the robbery, at around 9.26pm, and he was taken into custody.
Today (May 24), Herts Police confirmed Elliot Belsham, 35, from Watford, was subsequently charged with robbery, being drunk and disorderly in a public place, public nuisance, and common assault.
He appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning, where he was remanded in custody ahead of his next court appearance.
