Rishi Sunak attended Mill End Lunch Club’s coronation party to the delight of guests.
Yesterday (May 8) the Prime Minister and his wife Akshata Murthy chopped parsnips and strawberries at the event in Rickmansworth.
Trisha Hegde, one of the volunteers, said: “It was exciting having the prime minister here.
“He was terrific, very friendly and charming.”

Mr Sunak and his wife stayed for an hour and a half “and spoke to everyone”, Ms Hegde said.
The lunch, run by the Royal Voluntary Service, offers a two-course meal for £5 for people over 60.
It has been going for nearly seven years, five days a week, “and is as much about combatting loneliness in the elderly as it is about food”.
South West Hertfordshire MP Gagan Mohindra was also there to take part in the Big Help Out, an initiative that aims to raise awareness of volunteering throughout the UK.
He said it was a “pleasure” to welcome the couple to Rickmansworth.
“I look forward to welcoming the Prime Minister and his wife again in the future to continue showing them more of our excellent communities, businesses and individuals that make South West Hertfordshire a fantastic place to live,” he added.
