Armed police descended on a busy street last night and arrested two people.
Two men allegedly claimed to be armed with knives during what Herts Police described as a “disturbance” at 9.18pm outside Chico’s Parmi ‘N’ Shakes in Whippendell Road, Watford.
A spokesperson told the Watford Observer today (April 24): “It was reported that a number of men had approached a man outside of Chico’s Parmi ‘N’ Shakes, alleging that they were in possession of weapons.
“Armed response officers were deployed to the area and identified two suspects, who were arrested at the scene. They remain in police custody at this time.”

No weapons were found and no one was injured, they added.
The manager of Chico’s said the incident happened outside the restaurant but had nothing to do with it – adding they will assist police however they can.
