A Hertfordshire MP has been appointed as the new Deputy Prime Minister following Dominic Raab’s resignation.
Taking up the role will be Oliver Dowden, who is the Conservative MP for Hertsmere and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster.
Mr Dowden said: "‘I am deeply honoured to have been asked to serve as Deputy Prime Minister.
"I look forward to working even more closely with the Prime Minister as we tackle the issues that matter most to the people of this country.’
Mr Raab also resigned from the role of justice secretary after an inquiry found he acted in an intimidating and aggressive way with officials in behaviour that could have amounted to bullying.

MP Alex Chalk, the current junior defence minister, has been appointed as the new justice secretary.
Adam Tolley KC’s investigation published today (April 21) concluded Mr Raab engaged in an “abuse or misuse of power” that “undermines or humiliates” while foreign secretary.
Mr Raab’s conduct in the department had a “significant adverse effect” on one colleague and he was also found to have been “intimidating” to staff by criticising “utterly useless” work while justice secretary.
The Prime Minister Rishi Sunak accepted Mr Raab’s resignation this morning with “great sadness”.
