Police have confirmed that a 59-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grooming after a "paedophile hunting group" sting.
Hertfordshire Constabulary received a report from members of the public "claiming to be an online child protection group" before the St Albans resident was arrested in the city.
The 59-year-old has been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue following the arrest, on suspicion of attempting to meet a female child aged under 16 following grooming and possessing an indecent photograph of a child, on April 14.

Child protection group Intercepting Online Predators live streamed outside St Albans City Station, in Station Way, at around 6.30pm on April 14, with the broadcast being viewed more than 26,000 times.
The livestream showed the group questioning a man while they detained him outside the train station car park before police officers arrived to handcuff him and put him in the back of a police van.
It is thought the man has links to Watford.
