The Home Secretary, Suella Braverman MP, has visited Watford for discussions over the relocation of the town's police station.
The Hertfordshire Constabulary site is set to move to a modern building on George Street, in the town centre.
The new location will allow foot patrols to be carried out with greater ease, whilst its proximity to the ring road allows a faster vehicle response to reported incidents.

David Lloyd said: "We are seeing the fruits of the extra investment in police officers in Hertfordshire – 2,414 at the end of March compared to 1,959 in March 2019.
"We now have the most police officers in the force’s history, and the crimes about which the public are most concerned, such as domestic burglary, have fallen significantly over the same period.
"We promised more officers and less crime, and we have delivered more officers and less crime.”
Dean Russell MP added: "Having been on a number of police raids in Watford, I have seen for myself how hard our local police officers work and it is only right that we equip them as best we can to help them in their vital work.
"New, modern facilities in the heart of town is fantastic news for Watford."
