Watford continues to evolve on a daily basis as new buildings are constructed, while others are consigned to piles of bricks and masonry.
Using Google Street View, we've taken a look at five locations in and around the town centre and the changes that have happened to them over the past decade or so.
Scroll through the pictures below and you will see some of the changes are immediately apparent, while others relate more to the detail – although that is no less significant.
Watford's main shopping centre was still called the Harlequin in September 2009...
...but by August 2021 it was known by its current name, Atria.
The One Bell pub was still open for business in September 2009...
...but by August 2021 it had made way for the Taco Bell restaurant.
Were you playing bingo at this venue in King Street back in 2009?
The building still looked largely the same but by September 2020 its use had changed.
Changes were afoot at the site of Stapleton's Tyres in Lower High Street in Septmber 2008...
...it was to become the home of the town's fire station. Here it is pictured in May 2021.
Plenty of you will remember this structure towards the bottom end of Lower High Street...
...it is now a branch of a well-known supermarket chain.
