Police cars and helicopters descended on the Meriden area this evening in relation to arrest enquiries.
After a police helicopter was spotted circling over the York Way shops in the Meriden area six or seven times, at around 5.25pm, Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed it had been called out “to assist officers with ongoing arrest enquiries”.
Police have not been able to offer a further update, because it is an ongoing incident.

The force closed The Gossamers and a number of police officers have been photographed around the Meriden area, particularly in The Gossamers, near Phillipers.
No one appears to have reported seeing an ambulance in the area.
One woman claimed “a man on the run” tried to enter her home, while others say they saw a motorcycle, which had been in a crash, on the ground.
It is unclear whether there are two separate incidents or one.
