A fence that was damaged in a car crash will see repairs after fly-tipping concerns were raised.
The fence, which forms the boundary between land belonging to Affinity Water and land belonging to Hertfordshire County Council, in Bushey Mill Lane, was partly knocked down on March 23.
The land behind it is apparently known as a fly-tipping hotspot.
Bushey Liberal Democrat campaigner Louise Nicolas said: “We have had fly-tipping problems in the field previously, in fact I cleared the last one up myself.
“Fly-tipping remains a huge problem in and around Bushey and any land which is easily accessible becomes a target for the illegal dumping of waste.”
The Watford Observer contacted Affinity Water and Hertfordshire County Council last week to find out when the fence would be repaired.
- Pedestrian taken to hospital after reports he was hit by a car
- Pharmacy delivering free of charge while roadworks block access
- Mountain of rubbish collected from major road dumping hotspot
It was initially unclear who was responsible for the work but yesterday (April 4), after legal documents were checked, the council said it believed Affinity Water is responsible.
Later that day, an Affinity Water spokesperson said: “Affinity Water accept responsibility for the maintenance of this section of fence and will make appropriate arrangements to get it repaired.
“Please be aware that this could take up to four weeks.”
