Police have issued a warning after finding a stolen moped abandoned amid a wave of motorcycle thefts.
A moped was stolen from Hayling Road, South Oxhey, between 6pm on March 23 and 8.10am on March 24.
A resident then contacted Hertfordshire Constabulary on March 27 regarding an abandoned motorcycle that had been left in Culverden Road for several days. Checks revealed it was the stolen moped and it was returned to its owner.

Police added that their investigation is still ongoing.The theft comes amid a recent wave of motorcycle thefts and officers reinforced their warnings about keeping motorcycles locked.
They revealed that recent weeks have seen 30 motorcycle thefts reported in Hertfordshire, including six that were stolen in the Watford area.

Dacorum, Broxbourne, and Welwyn Hatfield were also among the hotspots.
Police shared the following advice to motorcyclists, as most of the stolen bikes were unsecured:
Use a designated parking place with a stand and security loop where possible; always lock the bike to something; use a cover; security mark and register the bike; stay insured; make sure security devices are Thatcham or Sold Secure approved; park in view of CCTV; and be wary of bargain parts.
