A 70-year-old from Watford has been ordered to pay £759 for using his phone while driving.
Ross Merrick was found guilty of driving while using the mobile at 9.35am on May 9, 2022.
He was behind the wheel of a Ford on the A1 at Stirling Corner.

Merrick, of Beech Park Way, appeared in Ealing Magistrates’ Court on March 16 and denied the charge, but was found guilty that day and ordered to pay a £100 fine, a £34 victim services surcharge, and £625 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
His driving record was endorsed with 6 points.
Sharon Carter appeared in Lavender Hill Magistrates’ Court on March 15 charged with throwing down, leaving, or otherwise depositing a cigarette.
Carter, of St Paul’s Way, had left the rubbish outside a McDonald’s in The Broadway in Wimbledon on September 5 last year.
After the charge was proved, the 35-year-old had to pay a £220 fine, a victim services surcharge of £88, and costs of £200.
