A woman was taken to hospital after being bitten by a “dangerously out of control dog” in North Watford.
The animal, described as a white pit-bull type, apparently attacked another dog on March 2 before biting the woman’s hand in Orchard Park, Gammons Lane.
She required hospital treatment for “numerous” bite marks to her hand.

Following the attack at around 7.30am, Hertfordshire Constabulary said the owner is described as being a white woman in her 40s.
PC Anthony Muller is investigating and urged anyone who recognises the dog or its owner from the description to come forward.

He said: “If you were in the area at the time of the incident, and have not already spoken with police, we would like to hear from you.”
