An air ambulance was called after a motorcyclist in his 40s was seriously injured in a crash.
Emergency services thronged to the A405 North Orbital Road, between junction 21a of the M25 and the M1, following the collision at around 4.30pm yesterday (March 16).
A Herts Police spokesperson said: “The incident occurred near the Black Boy public house and involved a van and a motorbike.
“Officers attended alongside the ambulance service – including the air ambulance – and road closures were put in place.
“The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries.”

Motorists were warned to avoid the area as emergency services worked at the scene. The stretch remained closed for over four hours before the vehicles were recovered and the road reopened at around 9pm.
No one has been arrested.
Enquiries are continuing and police urged any witnesses to contact them quoting ISR 572 of 16 March.
