A man has been ordered to pay £1,856 after reversing into a pedestrian in a car park before driving off.
Amar Shah was driving a Volkswagen Golf without due care and attention in Watford Arches Car Park, Lower High Street, when it moved backwards and injured a woman.
The 40-year-old was found guilty of failing to report a road accident involving a vehicle he was driving, and driving without due care and attention, by Stevenage Magistrates Court on March 13, having denied all charges on October 30, last year.

A further charge of failing to stop after a road accident was dismissed.

Following the incident on October 27, 2021, the court fined Shah, of Highwood Grove, London, £1,279.
He was also ordered to pay costs and a victim services surcharge totalling £577.
According to court documents, he did not give his name and address to a person with reasonable grounds requiring him to do so and failed to report the accident to police within 24 hours.
