McDonald’s staff in Watford High Street feared they would be attacked by a group of "abusive" youths in the restaurant.
Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed they recorded a common assault at the fast food outlet after a group of young people were behaving antisocially.
When asked to leave, the youths verbally abused a member of staff "who was in fear of violence", police said.

The force has asked anyone with information about the assault, which happened at around 5.30pm on March 6, to call 101 quoting the reference 41/19156/23.
Common assault can involve physical violence being inflicted but could also apply to situations where someone thinks they are going to be attacked, despite not involving physical violence, such as threatening words or a raised fist.
