A dog walker “felt ill” after his pet led him to “disgusting rancid meat" in a Watford park.
On Monday (March 6), the local was strolling through Meriden Park at around 1pm when his dog bolted off to follow the scent coming from decaying food at the top of the park.
The owner followed and came across the source of the "rancid" smell, after getting back to the path he warned another walker to keep their pet away.

However, he was told they knew about the meat and it had actually been there for weeks.
After the pet was taken home, its owner decided to put on some gloves and go back out to clear his local park.
He said: “It was absolutely disgusting and made me feel quite ill collecting it, even though I had gloves on and was putting it in a carrier bag.
“I have better things to do with my time.”
The debris apparently included “all sorts of meats” but some of it had grown so rotten that it was impossible to tell what type of meat it was.

Although he didn’t know where it had come from, the Meriden resident said that mess like food waste, plastic, and broken glass is regularly left littering the park.
