Two works right next to each other have reportedly created “awful” traffic.
Multi-way traffic signals are in place at the St Albans Road junction with Lowestoft Road, Watford, for Eclipse Power to connect a new service while roadworks to widen a footway and upgrade the carriageway are also underway.
The roadworks required a lane closure.
A motorist took a photo of the traffic in the early afternoon yesterday (March 2) and shared her outrage at both works occurring at the same time.
She described the alternating lights as “just about as much as St Albans Road can handle”.

“To add the pavement works blocking the direct access to Leavesden Road is over the top,” she added.

Councillor Asif Khan branded the situation “awful”, adding: “I'm not happy about the disruption caused and the very little mitigation given to residents and drivers.”
According to One Network the roadworks are down to continue until March 31 at the latest. The traffic lights could be in place until March 13, but Cllr Khan claims he has been told it will finish by March 10.
