Police arrested two men on suspicion of GBH and affray after a man was left with serious facial injuries in the town centre.
Hertfordshire Constabulary were called to Market Street, Watford, at around 1.35am today (February 23) following reports of a row involving a small group of males.
The victim is believed to have been injured by an "object", a police spokesperson said, before he was taken to hospital by the ambulance service.
His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police searched the area before their investigation led them to an address where they arrested a 23-year-old on suspicion of GBH, and a 21-year-old on suspicion of affray.
They remain in police custody as of this morning as investigations continue.
When asked if the victim and suspects are believed to have known each other, a police spokesperson said they are still working to establish the circumstances.

A Market Street resident reported being kept awake until 4am after the "sad" incident as the investigation and emergency response was underway.
Anyone with information has been asked to call 101 quoting the reference ISR 39 of 23 February.
