A warrant has been issued to arrest a driver charged with making off without paying for fuel six times.

Sering Fye, of Tulip Court, St Johns Road, Watford, is charged with driving an Audi without a license or insurance in Essex Road, Islington, on January 24, this year.

The 33-year-old was also charged with dishonestly leaving with the intent to avoid paying for petrol/diesel in the London Borough of Islington or Camden.

The making off without payment charges relate to three dates last year; on December 9, December 22, and December 29, as well as three this year on January 6, January 9, and January 14.

The amount allegedly owed on each occasion ranged from £21.20 to £37.17.

After a failure to appear in answer to bail, a warrant for arrest without bail was made by Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on February 9.

It was still active today (February 16), the court confirmed.
