Eight childcare providers in Watford and Bushey have been inspected by Ofsted already this year.

The majority received positive reviews, with some turning around previously negative ratings in the process.

Harebreaks Preschool

North Watford Methodist Church, The Harebreaks

The preschool, based at The Methodist Church in North Watford, was graded inadequate and given a lengthy list things to improve last July.

But after another inspection on December 9, it appears to have turned things around as it was praised and found ‘good’ in all categories in a report published January 18.

Bush-E-Babes

St Pauls C of E Church, Bushey Hall Road

Another report where a provider once told it 'requires improvement' received a 'good' after its most recent inspection was published on January 30.

Ofsted found the children are “thoroughly engaged” in a stimulated learning environment.

Little Acorns Montessori School

The Lincolnsfield Centre, Bushey Hall Drive

This Montessori for kids up to four was found ‘good’ in all areas in a report published on January 13.

Inspectors said: “Children make good progress in this calm and nurturing environment.”

Bright Horizons Watford Day Nursery and Preschool 

Printers Avenue

A report published on January 10 showed this nursery and preschool was also ‘good’ in all areas.

The report noted the attention given to children’s wellbeing and the relaxed and professionally managed environment created by the nursery team.

Little Furze Pre-School

South Oxhey Children's Centre, Northwick Road

Jumping from ‘inadequate’ to ‘good’, this preschool impressed inspectors who highlighted how kids laugh and chat throughout interesting activities, in a report published on January 17.

Little Hearts Preschool

St. Meryl Junior Middle & Infant School, The Mead

This “warm and friendly” preschool was awarded a ‘good’ rating and praised for its ambitious curriculum, focus on communication and language, and interesting activities.

Co-operative Childcare Watford South

Altham Gardens, South Oxhey

In a glowing report due to be published this week, it looks set to be confirmed that this “exceptional service” is ‘outstanding’, jumping a grade from being found ‘good’ at its last inspection.

Knutz Out of School Club 

Knutsford Primary Academy, Balmoral Road

Graded differently due to being a club, Knutz Out of School Club was found to have met the quality and standards of early years provision.

It was inspected on December 15, last year, before the report published on January 20 shared praise for the school.
