Eight engines are tackling a major fire that broke out this afternoon at a Watford restaurant.
At around 4.30pm today (February 4), Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue confirmed it is "dealing with" the incident by the side of the A41/Elton Way.
A spokesperson confirmed that teams, which include a ladder unit, are at the scene of the fire in the roof of the takeaway restaurant Imperial China Watford.
They advised people to avoid the area due to “lots of smoke”, which is causing issues for drivers and congestion on the road.

Drivers were already warned to avoid the area earlier this afternoon due to "gridlock" traffic caused by roadworks.
A road closure at the A41 M1 Junction 5 Roundabout, by Stephenson Way, diverted traffic towards the dome roundabout and onto St Albans Road - where there are more potential delays.
According to Google Maps, traffic on the A41 is moving "much slower than usual".
