At least 33 schools across Hertfordshire were forced to close for the teachers’ strike – including nine in and near Watford.
National Education Union action was expected to affect “most” schools in the county, but “relatively few” were expected to completely close, the county council said earlier this week.
At the time Herts County Council added it “did not have an accurate picture of which schools will be affected, as teachers don’t have to inform their school in advance that they will be striking, and many schools are academies and don’t have to inform us”.
