Part of Watford General Hospital has been evacuated after a chemical spill in the maternity unit.
Herts Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed it was called to reports of a cleaning chemical spill in the hospital's maternity unit at 10.35am this morning (January 26).
Three fire engines and a decontamination unit were sent after the fumes reportedly "caused some problems for staff" and the immediate area was evacuated.

The fire service is cleaning up in the unit and making sure it is safe. It expects to be able to hand the scene back to the hospital within the next half an hour (around 12.30pm).
Hertfordshire Constabulary has confirmed officers are in attendance to assist but the incident is being led by Herts Fire and Rescue Service.
Ambulances could also be seen alongside the fire engines and police.
