A police probe has been launched after a car was stolen during a home break-in.
Burglar(s) targeted a residential property in Fourth Avenue, Watford, between 5.30pm and 6.30pm on Sunday, January 15.
They got in by smashing a rear door, stole car keys and a debit card and then made off with a dark blue Volkswagen Golf. No one was in the property at the time.
This morning (January 23), Hertfordshire Constabulary’s Detective Constable Debbie West appealed for witnesses, information and doorbell footage. Information can be reported online or via 101, quoting reference 41/4143/23.
It comes just over a week after a separate burglary off St Albans Road, Watford, saw precious jewellery including family heirlooms stolen.
The victim said he returned home with his kids to find a window smashed and the home ransacked.
There was also an attempted burglary in Briars Road, Watford, on January 2, during which a back door was smashed. The burglars fled after being confronted by the occupants.
Last month three men broke in through a front door in The Harebreaks before running off empty handed.
