A 59-year-old man has appeared in court after allegedly sexually assaulting two women and stalking a teenage girl.

Grahame Steuart, of Garsmouth Way in Watford, appeared before Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 16.

He was charged with stalking involving serious alarm/distress; two counts of sexual assault on a female aged 13 and over; criminal damage to a vehicle; and using threatening / abusive words / behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

The stalking charge relates to two incidents involving a teenage girl under 18 in Watford in December 2022 and January 2023.

The sexual assault charges relate to two separate incidents, involving two further female victims aged over 18, which were also reported to have occurred in December 2022 and January 2023.

Steuart was remanded into custody and is next due to appear before St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Monday, January 23.

Detective Sergeant Joel Gill said: “Tackling violence against women and girls is of great importance to us and I hope this arrest provides reassurance to the local community.

“We take reports of stalking and harassment very seriously. If you experience unwanted behaviour, please report it to the police.”
