A 94-year-old received a heart-warming birthday message from her "favourite man in the world" – Martin Kemp.
Iris Parker, who was being looked after by Watford-based charity Peace Hospice Care, was left overjoyed after hearing from the former EastEnders star on January 3.
Kemp, who she described as "just lovely", is a patron of the hospice in Peace Drive. In the message he said: “Listen, 94 today... that is amazing isn’t it.
"Have a great birthday and all my love.
“I know you’ve been following what I do over the years, and I really appreciate it.
"So have a great day, try to eat far too much cake, drink far too much tea, and have a glass of wine on me.”
Iris lived in Potters Bar all her life and worked as a receptionist at a GP surgery. She has two children, eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
When Iris found out that Kemp had shared the video on social media, she told hospice worker Erin it was one of the best birthdays she had ever had.
“Oh I’m a star at 94,” she beamed.
