A Hertfordshire village has been named among the "most desirable" to live in in the UK, according to The Telegraph.
The paper selected 54 locations from across Britain, in conjunction with research from Savills, that were deemed “most desirable” in terms of costs and the lifestyle they offer.
Among those featured was Little Gaddesden, that's just a 20-minute drive away from Kings Langley.
More than half of the estate agents working for Savills across the country reported a rise in demand in the most desirable countryside locations, with 57% saying they were unable to buy where they wanted.
Frances Clacy, analyst at Savills, told The Telegraph: “People want villages that have a bit of everything, from schools to stunning countryside, with accessibility to cities and transport infrastructure. Less well-trumpeted factors count too, such as the main road through the village should only lead to other villages.”
The full list of 54 villages on the list can be seen on The Telegraph page here.
Little Gaddesden
Little Gaddesden has an array of historic connections, with its National Trust's Ashridge Estate and endless amounts of breathtaking rolling green fields.
Situated near the market town of Berkhamsted along with Berkhamsted Tennis and Cricket Club, Little Gaddesden offers locals the chance to have access to amenities whilst having their pocket of countryside life.
However, the village does come with a hefty price tag, with an average house price of £1,333,501 mostly due to its proximity to Berhamsted, a town popular with London commuters.
Although many are willing to pay the price to enjoy a slice of country living, with the chance to enjoy the area's characterful and quirky local shops, good schools and local sports clubs, the village of Local Gaddesden is a highly desirable area.
