A new CGI has shown how a school could look if plans to demolish and rebuild it are given the green light.
The Department for Education (DfE) submitted a planning application to demolish the majority of the Little Reddings Primary School site, in Harcourt Road, Bushey, and build a larger two-storey school.
An aerial image, which the DfE provided the Watford Observer today, shows an artist’s impression of what the site will look like if Hertsmere Borough Council approves the application it received on December 6.
The existing layout was described in the application as undersized and inefficient, with the new building set to be constructed to “the highest standards of environmental and architectural design”.
Classrooms will be provided over both floors but there will be no change to the number of pupils or staff.

Headteacher Rebecca Tregear said: “The new school is such an exciting opportunity for, not only the Bushey St James Multi Academy Trust, but also the whole local community.
“The state of the art new indoor and outdoor facilities will greatly enhance the local community provision for many decades to come.”
The existing school buildings are set to remain in use throughout the build before being demolished after the new school opens in September 2024.
