Website FixMyStreet helps people report problems such as fly tipping, potholes, and broken streetlights.
When someone makes a report, the location, a description, and optionally an image are then sent to the local authority.
Since the beginning of November, a number of reports from around Watford have been uploaded to the site.
Below are five of the worst.
Wooden planks were photographed just off Berry Lane, in Chorleyood, on November 6.
Almost in the same spot furniture had been reported dumped in July and what looks like broken glass wrapped in a blanket was reported in October.
On November 17, furniture was found dumped behind some shops in Park Avenue, Bushey.
Also in Bushey, a large amount of rubbish that “looked like the contents of a brown bin” was spotted in a field on November 7.
Just off Lye Lane, Bricket Wood, "around 30 bags" of rubbish were found in woodland on December 4.
Bricks and bits of wall were reported to Three Rivers District Council on November 1 after they were dumped near High Elms Lane.
On November 25, a report was made to Three Rivers District Council after a bag of rubbish was strewn outside St Paul’s School, in Langleybury Way.
Watford mayor Peter Taylor told the Observer that fly-tipping costs councils thousands each year.
He urged all residents to report suspected fly tips on the council website or call police if they see a fly tip in progress.
