A proposal to open a temporary car park in Watford is among the planning applications submitted to Watford, Three Rivers, Dacorum and Hertsmere councils.

The plan involves an area of land at the junction of The Gossamers and The Turnstones owned by Watford Community Housing Trust being made available for 14 car parking bays, including disabled parking.

The applications states this temporary measure is needed because of the "limited parking in the immediate surrounding vicinity", with the new 'Market Square' parking areas not due to open until the last quarter of 2023.

The temporary car park "will be free of charge to motorists frequenting Plover / Cygnet House commercial units" and will be removed and landscaped once the new 'Market Square' car park becomes operational.
