Respects paid to Queen Elizabeth II at Kings Langley School

Jack Silver, 11, who attends Kings Langley School, made the comments as he planted a tree in memory of Queen Elizabeth II.

He said: “Hopefully His Royal Highness King Charles III will be a green king. 

“As a committed environmentalist, he has a long history of campaigning for better conservation, recycling fashion, organic farming and tackling climate change.

“This is likely to sit well with the more eco-conscious, British population of all ages.”

Jack, who was made 7A’s form captain in September, requested the tree planting ceremony only two days after he took on the role.

It has been planted in the school’s grounds and a small plaque has been attached to it in memory of the Queen.

Jack said: “We share unspoken emotion and contemplation for Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor.

“She was a promise of destiny, kept now at the end of the Elizabethan age, Kings Langley School remembers her.

Jack added: “She bound our country in all four corners of the realm with our sense of national identity. She was defender of the faith and encourage acceptance of all religions and faiths.

 “She was held with unique regard here and around the world. She was one of the greatest leaders the world has ever had.

“Our Queen has been a constant in family and imperial life, reigning seven decades over most families, making her the only monarch many people have ever known.”
