Hi, my name is Spot and I am a sweet 13-year-old boy. Before coming to the National Animal Welfare Trust I lived outside with other cats but had minimal human contact. Because of this I’m quite timid and need a lot of time to settle into a new place.
At the moment I’m not very comfortable being handled because I’m not used to it so I need an experienced owner who understands I’ll need time and space to settle. I feel quite overwhelmed at the centre so spend most of the day hiding in my bed or carrier and prefer to come out and eat when nobody is around.
I’d like to be the only pet in the home so I can settle in at my own pace. Once I’m comfortable I’d like a garden to explore.
Because of my background, I’m quite a nervous boy but I’ve been slowly gaining confidence since I’ve been at the NAWT. The staff here are so gentle I now trust them to hand feed me treats. I’m looking for an adult-only home on a quiet road with someone who understands I need a lot of time and patience to settle in and feel safe.
I know that most people want cats that are friendly and love fuss but I’m really hoping there’s someone out there just looking for a pal who wants space.
If you could be that special person email reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0211 (option 2) to meet me.
