A man has been sentenced after armed police arrested a suspected knifeman in Watford’s Cassiobury Park.
The victim was walking at around 1pm on Thursday, November 17, when he was approached by a man who allegedly brandished a knife and threatened him.
A police helicopter was among Hertfordshire Constabulary’s response – and following a search a man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon and possession of class A drugs.

George Mitchell, 25, of no fixed address, was subsequently charged with possession of class A drugs (heroin and cocaine).
A Herts Police spokesperson said: “He appeared before St Albans Magistrates’ Court on 18 November, where he pleaded guilty and was ordered to pay fines and costs.

“No further action was taken in relation to the other offences.”
It comes after safety fears were raised over Cassiobury Park after a woman was robbed while walking alone in a separate incident earlier this month.
