A Hertfordshire Constabulary spokesperson described the vandalism as “senseless” and “unacceptable”.
The force continues to investigate the incidents and have now released a CCTV image of a man officers believe could help with their enquiries.
Police community support officer Niki Phillips said: “I know the picture is not the best quality, but hopefully someone might recognise him. If you do, please get in touch with me.”
