A Watford nursery has hailed parents’ community spirit after they came together to donate a huge haul to the local food bank.
Honey’s Nest in Balmoral Road went on a four-day “mission” to get meals for struggling families amid the cost of living crisis.
Nursery owner Robert Danks told the Watford Observer that together with the “wonderful, amazing parents” essentials including pasta, cereals, tinned food and sweet treats were gathered for donation.
He said it was in response to the early years sector being “destroyed” by funding decisions that have left struggling families short of food.
Food bank use in Watford is understood to be at record levels as bills and food prices continue to soar.
