Schools, community leaders and councillors have marked their respects to the armed forces who served or paid the ultimate sacrifice for the UK.

Here, we look at the Remembrance Services that have taken place in and Around Watford since Friday, November 11.

Watford-based charity One Vision held its service on Friday, November 11 at the Peace Garden in Stanborough Park, Garston.

The event was attended by several key figures, including Watford MP Dean Russell, Watford Labour candidate Matthew Turmaine and members of the police.

 

 

Also on Friday, Watford Grammar School Boys held a special service and held a minute’s silence at 11am for the armed forces.

The school revealed that The Last Post and Reveille were played by the school’s students.

 

Watford’s Remembrance Sunday Service was attended by Mayor for Watford Peter Taylor, Luther Blissett and other key figures from the area.

The parade was led by the Lord Lieutenant of Hertfordshire from St Mary’s Church to the Peace Memorial at 2.15.

 

 

Watford MP Dean Russell and Labour Councillor Asif Khan both Tweeted how they paid their respects on Remembrance Sunday.

 

 

Queen’s School in Bushey posted how The Aldenham and Queens’ School Combined Cadet Force marked Remembrance Sunday.

 

And Watford Football Club shared a video of its U12 Academy players read a Remembrance and Christmas Truce poem.

 

For those who could not attend a service in person, All Saints Church in Horseshoe Lane live streamed its service.

And Hertfordshire County Councillor for Central Watford and Oxhey, Stephen Medhurst tweeted pictures of a parade in Abbots Langley High Street.
